For a moment imagine yourself in this situation: You have just become paralyzed and face the daunting necessity of relearning life’s basic tasks after a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). This would be overwhelming for anyone.

Compound that with making important medical decisions, fighting off societal disability profiling, accessing appropriate rehabilitation, applying for financial assistance, the shock of astronomical bills, acquiring the right equipment, finding an accessible place to live, wrestling with insurance companies, talking with a lawyer, and the myriad of other things that need to be resolved. Imagine coping with such chaos in the midst of dealing with such tragedy!

Beneath all this weighty challenge, KPO has been a wellspring of hope to the people living with spinal cord injuries.
