The Annual KPO National Wheelwalk is a unique event where paraplegics are joined by able bodied persons in a show of solidarity to champion their cause.
KPO relies on its interactive website and enriched resource centre to educate the public on spinal cord injuries.
Consistent release of information on new developments in personal hygiene, disability transport, recreation, therapy, mobility equipment among others.
Under the research sub programe, we update data and information on paraplegics as well as go out nationally to find out unaccounted for paraplegics and their needs.
We have liaised with the ever supportive Kenyan Media to illuminate on pertinent issues on paraplegics.
The Readathon project: This is a Reading marathon project where high school students compete in a reading competition. More over, the focus schools benefit from donation of books from individuals and companies. A point worth noting is the fact that we prefer implementing this project in schools with a high constituency of students living with disabilities; more over, we encourage books donors to ensure that 40 % of the books donated have information on disability. This is an awareness project meant to inculcate a reading culture among the students. Its also an event where KPO gives back to the society in a special way.
