Under this programme, KPO outreach officers follow up resettled paraplegics equipping them with psychosocial and coping mechanisms after they leave hospitals. We also advise the family members on how to handle paraplegics.

This programme was instrumental in the decentralization of KPO efforts into community based organizations.

Counselling
Our counselling team takes paraplegics through the journey of acceptance that enables them to regain their self esteem and rebuild their lives. Counselling is the spring board of all the empowerment initiatives that the organization undertakes.

KPO has an array of therapies that addresses the diverse psychological needs of paraplegics for instance:

Hospital Rehabilitation
KPO arranges visitation to hospitals hosting paraplegic patients for the initial and build-up interventions.

Employment counseling
KPO provides assessment, job search and follow-up to support paraplegic individuals to re-enter the work place.

Peer support
KPO further provides positive role modeling in all aspects of rehabilitation and social integration to support psychological and physical adjustments for the paraplegic individual and their family.
