Why we need KPO Spinal cord injury victims in Kenya face indescribable challenges in their pursuit of survival and integration in the society. The metamorphosis from an able bodied person to a wheelchair bound person is a harrowing experience more so in a country where in some quotas disability stereotyping is rife. For paraplegics this is a bitter pill; as a matter of fact, they have to contend with the weight of depression, inaccessible buildings, loss of some of bodily functions, loss of livelihoods among others. More over, some victims succumb to persistent fatal medical complications like bed sores, pressure sores, back pain among others.
Beneath this state, KPO exists to prove that there is hope after spinal cord injury. Through our array of programmes we prove that paraplegics can define a new life for themselves and live an enjoyable and productive as that of any able bodied persons. Indeed our watchword is forever inspiring that there is life after spinal cord injury. |
